Enemy Territory Remake - Introduction

Hey Enemy Territory addicted folks! Welcome. This blog is for updates and information about our progression in our Enemy Territory Remake/Remaster new game.

About Enemy Territory
Wolfenstein : Enemy Territory was developed back in 2003. It was supposed to be an extra paid content (Today we would call it a DLC) to Return to the Castle : Wolfenstein. But the multiplayer was finished earlier that the singleplayer and for anothers reasons as well Splash Damage decided to release the multiplayer as a free entirely independent game. A year later they release the source code. That's why today we have a looooooooooooooooootttttttttttttttttttttttt of mods. The game itself (that's what matters) is the most well balanced multiplayer with objective basis tunning gameplay. You never get sick of it. Instead of capturing the flag or planting the bomb (Non-sense objectives present in today games like COD, CSGO, BF...*), ET it's all based in it's objectives and every map is an awesome different experience. If you have never played you should. You can play as an ally or axis in 5 classes: Soldier, Medic, Enginner, Field Ops or Covert Ops. All of them are essential for completing the objectives and/or defending them.

*Don't get me wrong. I play COD, CS:GO, BF a lot, but their objectives are not the part that really shines in their game.

If the game is so great why remake it?
The game was developed in 2003 and there are 4 main reasons for a remake:

1) The game was made back in 2003. The graphics for the time were awesome, but today not anymore. We want to reconcept all the game with what next gen have better to offer.
2) ET don't have any official server and besides I know great servers some people don't and their ET gets full of mods
3) Because first two problems, ET haven't so much players and we want to bring to a bigger community a really good game.
4) Enemy Territory was built in id Tech 3 engine which is pretty old. New AMD graphic cards seems to not run it great (Low FPS in Low setting **). And probably about a few years from now NVIDIA won't support it neither.
** In my old computer, a Core2Duo with a GS8400 graphic (25 bucks today) could run it fixed in 90FPS at least (Haven't tried more)

About our remake
We will do all in Unreal Engine 4 using and the resources that we can. As our rig is limited, don't worry our remake is going to be fully optimized.
Can we remake it legally?
As we've read in the license GNU (GLP3)
This program is free software: you can redistribute it and/or modify
it under the terms of the GNU General Public License as published by
the Free Software Foundation, either version 3 of the License, or
(at your option) any later version.
Also ET released their source code so we bet that recreating the game will not going to be a problem. Anyway when we get something more solid we will contact Activision and Splash Damage.About us
We work in Allya Games. We are two crazy developers trying to do all the stuff required for recreating an awesome game that we love and if this works out everyone else will do. We do it all : From modelling and texturing to animating and programming. It's a hard task with a lot of risks.

Do you used to love ET? Here's How can you help us!
We plan to add this game on a kickstarter project or patreon as soon as we have enough to say : Hey, we have a game. Until there if you like you can keep tracking this blog and liking our facebook page. You know, helping spread the word out and keep looking for some awesome updates. Here's the FB page:

Just for curiosity, have you once played ET with me?
My name in the game was KillerLorenzo and today is Lorenzofmann. And I always play at F|A (Fearless Assassin's) Recruiting (jay1) and Begginners 1 & 2 (jay2 & jay3). That's the great server I've talked about.
